Welcome to the Protection Information Management System. The application was built to capture and report on incidents of civilian violations or natural disasters suffered by civilians. This is a web application hence it can be invoked from wherever internet access is available. Developers of the application strongly recommend Firefox or Chrome browser, though internet explorer will suffice were these are not available.
To get started, you must obtain a user name from the system administrator(s) as this is a secured application. When you receive your user name you won’t be able to login right away, you must first establish your password. To do that, click the forget password link on the login page and you will be whisked away to a page that asks you for your user name. Enter your user name in the supplied text field, click send and an email will be sent to your inbox. Go to your inbox and locate the email from the PIMSZ application. Click on the supplied link.
When you do you will be taken to the change password page which asks you for your current password, new password and a confirmation of the new password. If this is your first time establishing your password leave the current password field empty. Supply the new password and confirm it. If however you are changing your password you must supply your current password. Click on the Change button and the system will confirm whether or not your change request was successful.
On just about every page in this application is a search drop down list located toward the top right side of a page below the application’s main menu. If you are searching for a case or cases of a certain type choose case from the search drop list and click GO. If on the other hand you are looking for an individual select Individual and GO.
To enter an incident or a natural disaster that affected people in some way, along with details of those affected, go to Cases. To enter filled questionnaires collected from surveys of displaced or affected persons go to Surveys. To refer an individual or individuals to another participating organisation better equipped to meet their needs go to Referrals.
A number of reports have been built for your information needs. To access these go to Summary Reports. All reports have filter fields that allow you to control data that is queried. Also when you do searches, you have the option to output search results to some basic reports.
Administrators have access to the Administrator page that allows them to enter new users and set user privileges.
At any time you can alert administrators on any problem or issue you encounter while using the application. To do that go to Contact Us and you can use that to send us a note.
